A wire draw encoder, also known as a draw-wire or string encoder, consists of a cable box and an encoder. As the measuring cable extends or retracts, the encoder calculates the number of drum revolutions, which corresponds proportionally to the measured linear distance. This allows for accurate position measurement along a linear path. Equipped with a range of interface options, ELCO's linear encoders enable seamless system integration, making them well-suited for demanding industrial applications requiring precise and reliable linear position feedback.
