Incremental encoders generate pulse signals whose frequency is directly proportional to the rotational speed of a shaft or axis. The resolution of the encoder is determined by the number of pulses per revolution (PPR). By counting these pulses, systems can accurately track position, rotational direction, and total rotation count, making incremental encoders a reliable solution for motion control and positioning applications.
